About Agama International

Agama International Zen Practice Centre is a place for meditation, study, and cultivation rooted in the early teachings of the Buddha. Practice here is guided by the Āgamas and structured through Satipaṭṭhāna. Rather than presenting meditation as relaxation alone, we approach it as a path of ethics, collectedness, and wisdom.

OUR ORIENTATION

Meditation as a Structured Path

At Agama International, meditation is understood as part of a larger path of cultivation. It is not taught merely as a method for relaxation, but as a disciplined training grounded in ethics, collectedness, and wisdom.

Guided by the early teachings of the Buddha and informed by the Āgamas, practice is structured through Satipaṭṭhāna — a gradual training in direct observation, continuity of attention, and insight into experience as it is.

Ethics

The ground of practice. Ethical restraint supports clarity, stability, and sincerity in cultivation.

Collectedness

The steadying of mind. Meditation develops continuity, composure, and unification rather than momentary calm alone.

Wisdom

Clear seeing through direct observation. Insight grows by understanding body, feeling, mind, and phenomena as they are.

TEACHER & LINEAGE

A Living Tradition of Satipaṭṭhāna Practice

Our practice is rooted in the earliest teachings of the Buddha, preserved in the Āgamas and carried forward through a living tradition of training and cultivation.

At its core is Satipaṭṭhāna — the Four Foundations of Mindfulness — practiced through walking, standing, sitting, lying down and meditation in daily life. In this way, mindfulness is cultivated continously as a path of ethics, collectedness, and wisdom.

Practice is not confined to the cushion — it continues in all postures, in all conditions of life.

ROOTED IN THE ĀGAMAS

Grounded in the earliest teachings of the Buddha, forming the foundation of practice.

FOUR POSTURES OF PRACTICE

Walking, standing, sitting, and lying down — practice continues in every posture.

PRACTICE IN ALL CONDITIONS

Not limited to formal meditation, but integrated into the whole of daily life.
